Pros

Decent quarterly bonus program, ok health insurance.

Cons

Small payroll, only full time employees earn vacation and when they take vacation it counts against the stores hours so basically they have to be down a person. They expect to much out of store managers and they burn people out very quickly. It seems like they don't want to fix current issues withen the company they just want to keep expanding. They over buy for various departments and then tell stores to just figure out where to put the extra stuff that they don't have room for. Then when stores get creative and merchandise something where it isn't supposed to be but is and has been empty for months they get told not to do that.

Pros

The Benefits were great and they had fun events for the employees. I really enjoyed the team I worked with

Cons

I was in the IT Department and watched it go downhill. There is a huge problem with management hiring their friends from their previous employer. Because they are all friends no one will gainsay the other for fear of upsetting them (or who knows why). So you as an employee have no where to go with issues. It is so bad at this point that there are probably more people in a management role than there are people to manage. They have gone off shore for a lot of their development work and it shows in the quality of the applications. If anyone has read the core values of the company in IT, they either do not know what they mean or feel they do not apply. There is a definite emphasis on rewarding those who "play the game" and "suck up to the boss" than retaining the good employees with the strong work ethic and knowledge base. The CIO is either oblivious to the issues in the department or does not care. HR was pretty non-existent by the time I left, so there is no real option to reach out there with serious issues either. Bottom line is IT is toxic at the moment and is not even close to improving and it is all management based.

Pros

The insurance was pretty okay. The staff outside of management are great.

Cons

Unrealistic goals and tasks. Extremely high turnover. Never enough staff to actually do what needed to be done. Puts way to much emphasis on getting credit cards and perks. The stores are old and there are many leaks, rats, mold and the break room is absolutely disgusting. Be prepared to clean human waste off of the bathroom walls and plunge toilets.
