You get discounts on the merchandise.

Cons

It's almost like slave labor and they'll threaten to fire you if you don't move fast enough. Too much merchandise and not nearly enough employees to handle stocking everything. The warehouse was constantly filled and inventory was a nightmare. You're expected to stock an unrealistic amount of products while still helping customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

If you have quality coworkers, the shifts are tolerable. Flexible scheduling

Cons

Unfortunately, flexible scheduling does not mean much if one is treated/scheduled like a full-time employee regardless. Needlessly long store hours (a décor store does not need to be open until 10 pm— when are student employees supposed to do homework?), monotonous and exhausting shifts with little to no sympathy for cashiers on their feet. Management is inconsistent and fickle, especially in regard to credit card sales, for which (even part-time) employees are pressured to meet unrealistic quotas. Management is also needlessly tough on employees— if the job does not consume all of your free time and mental capacity, it’s not good enough for them. Chronically understaffed with a high turnover rate, which surprises nobody
