      Company culture exclusive to home office - retail stores exact opposite.

      Pros

      40% discount at Athleta, Gap and Banana; beautiful store environment; generally healthy, upbeat client base.

      Cons

      Complete 180 degree difference between the uplifting, laid-back company culture of the home office - the stores are mostly managed by previous Gap or Banana managers who jumped ship for a reason (!) Left alone to "lead", the most popular style of management is through fear, intimidation and lack of access to information/knowledge.

      Pros

      Athleta is a really fun place to work. You get a great discount at Athleta as well as The Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy. I LOVED the people I worked with there, they were totally awesome. There are chances to move up in the company.

      Cons

      No benefits unless you are a manager or assisted manager. I heard once after you have worked 1,000 hours you can qualify. You spend long hours on your feet. The assistant managers assign you to an area in the store and you have to stay there. It can be very boring at times. You may have to work an occasional Sunday. You spend of your paychecks on the clothes because they are so great! (I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.)

      Nice product some employees were nice to work with

      Cons

      senior management is struggling to keep Gap Inc from changing the face of the company too much. It's bad. Very little upward mobility petty and catty work environment
