Pros

Hours are good and they give you a gym membership to the park district

Cons

It is a completely toxic environment in the corporate offices and everyone is just a number.

Pros

The only thing I enjoyed was my co-workers.

Cons

I worked for this company almost 4 years & nothing ever improved. I thought it was a good place to work at first because you see the name all over the place. Slowly, over time, more & more “perks” were taken away from employees & more work was dumped on them. There is no work-life balance. Taking a vacation was always a headache it almost wasn’t worth it sometimes. I attempted to expand my horizons applying to move up in the company a few times & was completely ignored. I didn’t even get a response to emails/voicemails I left for the supervisor who was hiring! They do not pay well & do not compensate quality work enough. I was never encouraged to grow in the company & that is a sad environment if you ask me. The clinic I worked in always had a negative atmosphere. I was the only person to ever attempt to rally staff together & I got tired of it only coming from me or $$$ coming out of my own pocket, when I wasn’t getting paid enough & that wasn’t my job to begin with.

Pros

Has a good reputation with the community, offers special interest groups for therapists interested in improving their knowledge of treating endurance athletes, performing arts, and other groups. Benefits packages are good. The therapists make the company, I have enjoyed working with almost every therapist I have met and there is good camaraderie amongst therapists.

Cons

Athletico merged with another large company, Accelerated, and was recently purchased by an investor so management is becoming more impersonal and benefits such as continuing ed have been cut. My regional manager was impersonal, uninvolved at the clinic level, and had no interest in listening to therapists needs/goals. There is a lack of appreciation for employees and no chance to move up the ladder from staff PT unless you are interested in management. Expectation to double book, work Saturdays and meet rigid patients per week and cancellation rate goals.
