It's a fine place to intern if you have had no work experience before

- The people are great. - Opportunity to learn from experience individuals from the field

Cons

- Everybody knows that the job is going no where and that the actual engineering work is a joke. Its paper shoving from end to finish - Manager's have favorite employees that is so obvious. Becomes very unfair to other people working there.

Pros

flex schedule 4 day work week (4-10's) Oil and gas No parking garage and not in Downtown or on the West side. More central location. Pay is great. In house project management system.

Cons

smaller company, less recognized in the Houston area Bechtel, Fluor, KBR and Jacobs are all more well known in the US, therefore tend to have an easier time to get work. SNCL bought out a small local operation and made that their Houston office. This was evident in the lack of continuity and corporate culture that is aligned with Montreal or Calgary (World HQ). Not much interaction with World HQ personnel.

Pros

The pay and benifits are very good. The company employees a lot of smart and competent people. Working for SNC is a great place to pick up knowledge. The company is involved in intersting work. The work environment is a good mix of field and technical people.

Cons

The management make some strange decisions, and doesn't always listen to their people. Starting out in new position with the company can be difficult, because not a lot of guidance is given.
