      A big swing in the wrong direction

      Pros

      It pays like a big tech company! And there are still remnants of what Atlassian once was.

      Cons

      The Atlassian of today is not what it once was. Mike Cannon-Brookes seems to have lost part of his soul with his divorce. Executive leadership is mostly folks that couldn't cut it at Facebook and Microsoft, and brought their not so great leadership skills to Atlassian. We've copied Meta's performance review system, Apex. We live in constant fear of stack ranking. We're trying to be like big tech, and we're really not good at it, which is creating inhumane conditions.

      Toxic work culture with no regards to employee wellbeing and health. I see my colleagues working until midnight and most weekends to achieve unrealistic deadlines.

      - Stack Ranking - Performance Reviews have turned us into the Hunger Games - Middle and upper management is paranoid that any question about the process is a personal attack on them - Management has actually said, just accept what you are told and don’t complain - No growth opportunity
