Pros

You get paid every two weeks

Cons

The culture is incredibly toxic. This place is truly awful. Not the same company it once was

Pros

Still Remote/WFH in 2025 Actually competitive comp and benefits (assuming $TEAM gets it together)

Cons

Frequent layoffs lower morale and cause employees to be fearful for their roles. An entire regional site was eliminated with little warning. company direction has never been more unclear. too many acquisions for employees to be able to keep up with. Values eroded. Stack ranking and curve fitting enable sabotage, teammates won't help each other if time and work can't be attributed to personal growth pillars, and performance metrics like PRs are gamifiable. leadership is out of touch or just pretending to be. deflects questions and concerns in town halls about company direction, layoffs, job security, and instead just wants to talk about F1 a lot.

Pros

On paper, compensation is good. Nice offices. Some interesting technical challenges. Some really smart coworkers.

Cons

Clueless management and "leadership". Squeezing employees and then PIPing them if they are not continually going above and beyond. Fear based culture. Performance review every 6 months that is extremely intensive and engineers are graded on PR count, confluence pages created, interviews given, etc. This leads to overwork and burnout, while software teams don't focus on solving actual problems due to poor management and "leaders" focusing on the wrong things. I am not opposed to performance management, but Atlassian has some severe flaws in their current approach that I believe will negatively impact the company's performance in the long term.
