Extensive changes for the sales org

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Work from home Decent work life balance Minimal travel

Cons

Please reach out to AEs who were employed prior to June 2024. Ask them about the organizational changes to compensation, territory size and titles. Commission plans are changed every 6 months, and goal posts are moved, hindering ability to make commission Expect to sit in the same role for 3-4 years Lack of operational maturity in the sales org. It takes 2-3 weeks to get a quote, and a 3 day wait for each revision.

Business Outlook

Pros

Great people: Smart, kind, collaborative colleagues across departments Flexible work arrangements: Remote-friendly with support for work-life balance Mission-driven: Clear emphasis on teamwork and empowering teams globally Opportunities for internal mobility and career development

Cons

Organizational silos and slow decision making: Hard to influence beyond your immediate scope Risk of burn-out or disengagement: Easy to fall into a tactical role without strategic clarity or ownership Increasing attrition of strong talent: Recent shifts in company strategy have led to quietly managing out high-performing employees, contributing to instability and low morale in some teams

Pros

There really aren't many any longer honestly.

Cons

Atlassian is being changed to be like EVERY other tech company out there. Constant focus on nothing but "cost avoidance". Stack ranking for employee performance and people leaving in droves. This is NOT the Atlassian anymore of yore. It's a generic tech company that has some of the most ridiculous systems you can imagine. If there's not a process for something create two so everyone can wonder which one to follow. The focus is on cost cutting at the expense of culture and it being a good place to work. Focus is on hiring in low cost offices which means jobs in places like mexico, india, portugal.
