Pros

Well ok, it is work so I guess fun might be a bit of a stretch, but since it is work it can't all be fun. In any case, I digress. Atmosera is an amazing little place doing some pretty crazy stuff and competing with the big boys. The company has been around a long, long time and re-invented itself a few times during it's life. I have tons of respect for that because unless you adapt you die. As a salesperson there is lots to sell here. From colocation to multi-tenant/private cloud to Azure there's something for everyone. We've just started doing business reviews with clients too and that is helping us get a better handle on customer satisfaction and you know what they say, knowing is half the battle. There is quite a bit of change going on and that is great because there's always something new to talk about with prospects and clients. Lots of new faces too so you know we're growing.

Cons

It's not all great though. The quoting tools stink, we can't even generate a legitimate quote without having to run it through a PDF editor to fix the quoting tools mistakes. It takes way too much time to get that done. If I were 'king for a day' I would fix that immediately. It's lousy.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Adapt or die is very true... especially in an industry (technology services) that evolves / changes so quickly. Not all people understand the adapt or die reality, it's challenges, and the rewards... so thank you. Also... your comment on the quoting tool is spot on - it sucks - I know the process to fix this has been painful. We will get it sorted out and in the meantime, I very much thank you for your patience / teamwork. We'll get there and when we do... when we can seamlessly produce quotes and the sales ops element of this is smooth sailing... I cannot describe how big the party will be!

Dark place to work

Pros

Smart engineers... pretty well-stocked kitchen

Cons

Executives are somewhere between careless and incompetent. Projects are chaotic, because services and offerings are poorly defined. Engineering / IT talent is impressive, but there's a ton of drama and backstabbing with few opportunities for promotion & professional development. Office is ugly and dark. Sales and marketing leadership is a complete joke - saying they're "nonexistent" would actually be an improvement.

I appreciate the feedback - my apologies that your experience didn't work out for you. I get it though, what we're doing - transforming, building, innovating to a public cloud, automated paradigm to pair with our private cloud/colocation offerings - it's not for everyone. Bigger opportunities, more requirements, more challenge, but increased rewards and stronger feelings of accomplishment. I believe I and the other leaders within Atmosera have been very intentional and thoughtful and communicative about our vision and objectives, what we sell, how we architect, deploy, and operate... and ultimately how we all as employees contribute to building a world-class organization. If we haven't been, it would be impossible to sell, build, and deploy the services we deliver, grow as strongly as we have, or attract the "smart engineers" we have (or any of our great employees). There are instances, however, where Executives aren't the answer and can't or shouldn't solve every item... and that's where I/we count ourselves very fortunate in that we have countless employees who step up, identify things that need improvement, define ways to achieve/help, and contribute to our collective forward movement. Atmosera has always been a place where employees are in charge of their own destiny, where they can impact customer outcomes, internal effectiveness, and are encouraged to contribute to make Atmosera better. This isn't a place for folks that can't/don't contribute. Atmosera is a place for those with an eagerness or the personality to make a difference, engage, and elevate themselves, the customer experience, and Atmosera. I can pretty much look at everyone - all of our employees here - and see those elements within them. Building greatness takes a great team. Additionally, while we started off the year with 53 employees and we'll end the year with around 65 employees (so we're not a company of hundreds), this year we've promoted 8 employees into higher positions, funded tens of thousands of dollars worth of training (informal, vendor training, technology training/certs, workshops, lunch-n-learns, and other activities), and hit 100% participation with our performance review process throughout all of 2018 with all employees receiving reviews and all managers giving reviews. On the sales front... our Azure sales grew 11x in 2017 and we're experiencing similar growth this year... and we just signed a Fortune 100 to manage their Azure in what will amount to 10 countries. So while we can always improve from a sales and marketing perspective, our efforts and the results are very existent, very present. We'll end 2018 with one of the top two or three quarters this company has ever seen. So, again... I'm sorry your experience didn't work out and I wish you'd would have taken me up on my always expressed offer of availability and approachability and you had come to my open cube to speak with me personally. Many employees do and I encourage this / make myself very available... without a doubt. PS. I do agree with you on the kitchen; it's pretty great.

Pros

They have a very open door policy. No one sits in an office, not even the CEO or CFO. Everyone has a great sense of humor and everyone is very approachable.

Cons

There are a lot of meetings but they are a necessity to our success
