Audible Is Where You Want to Be!

Pros

Audible while 20+ years old still has a start feel to it and embraces change and is an innovative place to work. You can find your voice a this company and infuse new ideas in a way most companies don't empower you to do. Great place to get energized and to see ideas flourish from start to finish.

Cons

While structure is important and beneficial even in a "start up" culture, we need to hear, see and connect more with our leaders, especially our senior leaders. We know they are working hard, making critical decisions every day but if it doesn't trickle down, if they cannot be asked questions and connect with them, audible will become a corporation culture. Also, we have an interesting relationship with Amazon. I think there is room for improvement and to really create a clear line where we need to be intricately connected and where we can be independent so we can all operated optimally.

Pros

More relaxed than Amazon. I've enjoyed the people I've worked with throughout, which is important to me. No shortage of interesting system-level web tech challenges to tackle—a mixed bag of gaps to fill (opportunities) and growth-related, bureaucratic baggage.

Cons

Mentioned in pros: there is a bit of a heavy top end, not unusual for a (tech) company in this stage of growth. Can be annoying though when edicts come down from senior leadership that disrupt work for employees in the bottom several rungs of the org.
