Pros

leadership is approachable and people are great

Cons

5 days in office, leadership is scared to death that spotify and amazon music will take all of our customers... just trying to launch 50+ different plans as if that's what'll keep customers

Pros

Compensation The salary offered is competitive and aligned with industry standards. Meals Food and meal benefits are satisfactory and support daily convenience. Work-Life Balance The environment encourages a relaxed pace—ideal for those prioritizing personal time over aggressive career growth. Personal Milestones It's a suitable place for individuals focusing on personal milestones, such as marriage or starting a family, while maintaining a recognizable brand on their résumé. International Locations Audible offers an exceptional experience for employees outside the United States—particularly in cities like Berlin, London, Sydney, and Singapore, where the company culture is especially enriching.

Cons

Broken Alignment Across the Company There’s a persistent lack of clarity and cohesion in how work is prioritized, Newark, and how leadership shows up. Senior management often feels disconnected, and the brand itself is suffering from an identity crisis that trickles down into daily operations. Strategic clarity is the exception, not the norm. Performative Culture Audible’s internal push to “Activate Caring” isn’t just a quirky slogan—it’s a symptom. It reflects a deeper cultural issue: a default mode of indifference. Empathy and collaboration have to be manufactured, not modeled from the top. Discrimination and Targeted Layoffs Patterns of exclusion based on ethnicity and background—whether subtle or overt—have been observed across engineering and BI functions.
