Pros

Very great job working with students. Allows you to grow and learn with the district.

Cons

The job working with kids can be very physically, mentally and emotionally stressful. Getting paid once a month also took some time to get used to.

Pros

It's in Austin, which is a great city.

Cons

Constantly implementing new curricula with little training on the new curriculum, low pay, new appraisal system aimed to prevent teachers from getting raises under the guise of improvement, paperwork and hoops to get special services for kids that need it

Pros

The school district is always busy. Never a dull moment working and helping children. Always a good feeling while helping others and having the ability to change the lives of other individuals through education.

Cons

Sometimes the work load is not balanced out between all employees. Some positions have larger work loads than others, and management can many time overlook this error. Mainly depends on which school you are employed at/ the type of management and employees who work there.
