      It lacks resources for teachers to do their job. Primarily in Special Education.

      Pros

      I enjoyed the people I worked with. They cared about the students.

      Cons

      My class was in need of another teaching assistant in order to properly follow guidelines of time students needed to be in their General Education classes. It was clear we needed help, but I was told to keep taking data. Nothing ever changed.

      Good benefits Great location downtown District technology is good, helpdesk is much better than other government sites

      Cons

      Difficult commute Culture of blame and shoot the messenger We don't learn from our mistakes Department leaders squabble a lot and keep solutions from working if it wasn't theirs. Nothing's better than something in these cases Parking is terrible Severely declining student population Finances of the district are millions of dollars lower than reality, don't believe the balance sheet Not enough substitutes for us at the schools

      Pros

      Austin Independent School district is a wonderful community. The schools are diverse with accommodating and appropriate teachers for all the students. The parent and school community relations are open and respectful.
