Pros

Job is both predictable but also nice to be in contact with several people in the district as well as helping parents. Vacations are accrued ahead of time, 2 weeks off for Christmas, summer off for school employees but not for CAC employees. Most people working here do appreciate education and the kids.

Cons

LOW SALARIES! Benefits are super expensive if you want to add your family. CAC is an old building, falling apart, no parking. The time clock system is terrible, making us feel like factory workers. Workers feel unappreciated, no raises, and those job cuts during the last legislature made everyone feel insecure. They like to hire from outside, no promotions.

Pros

Can't beat the time off. The retirement isn't too shabby either compared to other employers.

Cons

Where to start......having at one time worked in the Finance Department, one sees many things. The Management doesn't listen and has no intention of changing things for the better. It's all old school and no new ideas are accepted. God forbid that one suggest something that saves money! There are so many employees that have been there forever that they have become complacent...seriously why should old employees carry their fair share of the work when Management doesn't hold anyone accountable? The waste of Salary dollars on people who don't pull their share of the load is incredible. Also, if you happen to be a favorite of anyone in Management you are guaranteed not to have to earn your keep. This is just the tip of the iceberg......the waste in unnecessary spending and dollars wasted on Payroll for unproductive people should be investigated.
