Pros

A paycheck and you can learn a new field in dishwasher repair and sales.

Cons

1. Deceptive pay. Online pay says 65k for supervisor and with route 58k. None of those numbers are true. Knowing many drivers and supervisors from Everett to Tacoma and none of them are making that 65k. Route isn't making that 58k either. Per Indeed Auto-Chlor pays 17% lower than the national average. The only way you get any money is doing additional on call and sacrificing your social life. They have a weird system with how they pay you for on call which nobody can explain to you. Furthermore on call pay can be as low as $19 an hour. The bonus system is a JOKE you get $100-250 every 3 months if you QUALIFY; it is super outdated. If you are there 5 yrs. on route and a new guy gets hired and is given a better route he /she can easily make more money than someone of seniority. There is no tier system for RAISES… in fact they have not had an hourly raise for the employees since Jan 2017 they claim we get raises when they increase companion product increases. If you do the math on that then you’ll see that is mere pennies. Again Raises are a joke. That’s just the money side of things. On call is a joke. People quit because of it. There isn’t much training for it and workers get burned out. 2. Room to grow. That is probably the biggest problem. Seeing as there are not many chances to grow. They are really driving sales and don’t care much about management styles. There isn’t a clear path for growth. They want to work multiple people and breadcrumb them along to get work out of them and not promote them. Literally applied for supervisor once and there was about 3 of us that applied. They led us all saying let the best person get the promotion, yet didn’t interview anyone at my branch. Then no one got it after 4-5 months. They do this often. Too so many workers trying, giving extra work at the same low pay and then not promoted. The company is a revolving door of people coming and going. You need a med cert to get the job, they want you to work with hazardous materials and not pay you extra for that. 3. Management are two faced and do as I say not as I do. You can’t openly discuss issues it’s looked down on. You can get written up for negative attitude and really its facts. Super toxic environment. Avoid this place. Read the reviews they speak volume. I was at this company for yrs. Had its ups and downs but overall Auto-Chlor can and should do better to be able to keep their low level employees happy. 4. Technology is outdated and handhelds are a joke. They just need a LOT of changes. Don't see it happening. PAY ATTENTION TO WHY WASHINGTON AUTO CHLORS ARE ALWAYS HIRING.

Pros

I was hired when I was 25. I had been working as a cook, with no good career options. They hired me to pour and make soap. I did that for two years, then got into machine rebuilding for a few years, then route tech for 7 years, and then 20 years ago I became an installer. Which I'm still doing. I enjoy what I do. I'm a guy that likes to work hard, and thats what I do here. No one takes advantage of this. I know I'm very appreciated. October 2019 will be 30 years for me. The insurance is great. Ive had a few surgeries over the years, and had little out of pocket stuff to pay. The profit sharing is awesome. I don't put any money into it, its all payed for by the owners of the company. There is a company savings that pays approximately 5-6 % interest yearly on anything up to fifty thousand dollars! Yes, the works hard. If you think the work owes you a job where you can just sit around and be as useless as a box of rocks and get payed for it, then this place isn't for you.

Cons

I'm saddened by some of the negative reviews on here. It sounds like these folks didn't have the good experience that i had. Everyone is human and makes mistakes. Its hard to find good people, and sometimes I think young guys get promoted to be managers too fast, only because no one else wants the job.
