Just another cog

Pros

big company, can transfer throughout the country IF they bother to advertise openings

Cons

- Execs only care about themselves. - Non-corporate employees are treated like just some replaceable cogs - Good luck if you have mental health issues - you're treated no better than lepers - During COVID, they wouldn't honor the hardship hours, and made you use your own PTO - They have ridiculous standards. They don't care if you sell 20 cars a month if you don't sell one every other day, you're considered useless - Managers are just titles only. They don't "manage" - they condescend, they talk a big game in front of their bosses, but when it comes down to it, sales people are throw under the bus - Good luck trying to move up. If you're not one of their golden children (particularly the dishonest ones who commit fraud daily), your chances of moving up are slim to none. - During the pandemic, and subsequent shortage they actually increased the requirements to keep your job, and then started mass hiring to flood each location to force those who were burnt out to quit or get terminated - They don't honor ADA, and if you have a disability, you're useless to them

Politics and terrible management

Pros

The a/c worked in the building.

Cons

Bad management, bad culture, bad company direction, paid to rip off customers and forced to sell AutoNation aftermarket parts in place of factory. If you do not conform, your job is threatened. Open door policy is bs, if you complain you will have a target on your back. Complex and non transparent pay plans that will change often and never in your favor. Expected to work lots of hours and if you take vacation the management will give you guilt trips for not being there.

Pros

Hourly plus commission means I have stable income. Get cars very cheap through the company

Cons

Changes to the pay plan General corporate sneakiness No spiffs No minis Work holidays even if they’re on your day off They don’t pay for benefits fully. Health can cost you up to $400 a month because they make it nearly impossible to get the discounts because their website does not work
