Pros

AutoNation is not for everyone but most of my experience with AutoNation was rewarding and fulfilling. Personally speaking my compensation was market competitive. Most people that have complained about their pay that worked for the company were not movers and shakers in my opinion. Those that worked hard and brought something to the table were rewarded. Overall, this is a good company that could be a great company once again.

Cons

Politics. Additionally, corporate executive teams forget their automotive roots. Most of them are there because of their automotive retail experience. They forget how challenging it can be to work in the store and require over reporting to satisfy share holders.

Lovely co-workers and management, great and positive environment, easily understood rules and work expectations, flexible hours, opportunity for advancement within the company if your job is done well, everyone works truly as a team, they really take care of you here. Extremely satisfied with the company. I thought I would just want to use it as a filler job... until I found something full time. But I ended up wanting to keep the position, and I have! I have never felt more satisfied with a job.

Cons

Extremely disorganized company that will demand outrageous requests. Store level mgmnt is fine, corporate is lazy and doesn't understand their own processes. Compare company to bottom of the barrel employers: overworked, underpaid, and little room for worthwhile opportunities. Company lacks ethics and solidarity.
