      Store Manager

      Pros

      It is a great place to start off as a store manager and gain experience. The company is expanding so there is a lot of opportunity for advancement in lower management but company mainly hires upper management from outside.

      Cons

      Pay sucks!! for the hours that you put in and the paycheck you get for a store manager. You will not retire on it. Your family life will suffer. There is no work life balance for store managers. You will work 10-12 hour days. You will always be short staffed. There will always be an emergency somewhere with something. Your kids will grow up without a parent and your spouse will hardly ever see you.

      Pros

      Scheduling flexibility is very nice (for part time work), Autozone really does have the best warranty system of any auto parts chain.

      Cons

      The 20% discount is pretty much a joke; the rewards card system (for customers only) is pretty much equal to our discount (if not better; our discount doesn't include oil, antifreeze, spark plugs, etc). KPI reports, checkout challenge, some WITTDTJR items are a joke (yet forced down your throat), phone shop surveys.

      Pros

      Personally I believe that there are many opportunities for professional learning and growth in this job. They also offer a good benefits package and fair pay in an economy where so many are looking for decent work.

      Cons

      My biggest frustration since beginning this job has been insufficient training. I am proud to work for AutoZone & I want to perform well for both personal and professional reasons, but I don't feel that the necessary tools are always provided.
