Pros

great company to work for. Sideways and upward mobility, work is valued, great and well communicated corporate vision. A lot of cutting edge projects to work on. Good work life balance and very competitive compensation.

Cons

Much of the culture change being pushed with the business transformation is not being accepted at the middle management tier. Saying it and expecting it to just happen is not going to work. Make people accountable

Innovative company focused on building a better world. People are treated with respect and rewarded for performance.

Cons

The transition from a desktop software company to a service based company is going to be difficult. What built Autodesk of the past is not the solution for the future.

Culture with good intentions, but....

Pros

Autodesk is truly an amazing place to work. As a company its different - it's not your typical heartless corporate entity out to make money. It cares about the employees, customers, environment, and the planet as a whole. This sentiment pervades through the company and its palpable. People are genuinely friendly and attrition rate is really low.

Cons

The work culture is almost too collaborative for Autodesk's own good. There are too many meetings and emails about the littlest thing. Middle management don't feel empowered to make decisions and leave it to VPs to make the call. Product decisions are top-down. Product managers are always looking for approval from executives to make tough calls. Too many levels of management and people are well entrenched make it difficult for people aspiring to grow.
