Pros

Good people (other than the ones in management, upper management is terrible)

Cons

- Hostile and threatening corporate management. - Live and work with the fear of being laid-off any day. - CEO is a power freak and tries to monitor and control every little thing in the company, himself. Even managers seem to be scared of taking initiatives. - No free snacks or coffee, a very rare phenomenon for a tech company. - The company (CEO mostly) considers itself a Singapore company, not an USA company. Tries to force Singaporean work culture on American employees. - Company mindset is to save money to show investors that they are making profits. This translates directly into NO R&D funding. So no real technological growth. - In reality company is very stagnant without any innovations, profitable (on papers) only due to very aggressive cost-cutting measures. - No bonus or perks. Be happy that they pay for health insurance (partially).

Focused Entirely on Profit, not People

Pros

Profitable, good products. Staying power.

Cons

Management focused only on bottom line. Acquires other companies and then initiates massive layoffs. Only back-stabbing yes-men survive as managers in this company. CEO is a tyrannical dictator where it's "my way or the highway". Telecommuting is strictly forbidden. Work-life balance tilted heavily towards work, work, work.

Pros

The stock price is high but otherwise I don't see any real pros unless you report to the CEO.

Cons

Bare bone technology Always laying off people regardless of performance Don't value non Avago way of thinking Don't value employees or most of management for that matter Its all about the stock price right now and not the future ie employment growth, processes for long-term
