Pros

Good people to work with, remote, unlimited PTO

Cons

No clear path to promotion or raise, if team members quit they subdivide work among other workers without giving a raise, From a tech standpoint, they are in the middle of converting from on prem to cloud and it is kind of a mess. Also, the longer I work in. a non-cloud environment the more obsolete my skill set becomes. Very common to have to deal with server issues in the middl of the nights and weekends

Thank you for this four-star review. We agree that Availity’s associates are some of the best people—supportive, kind, patient, and empathic. We love that you enjoy working remotely and the unlimited PTO offered. These benefits, along with several others, help contribute to a healthy work-life balance that is unique to you. You can build a fantastic career at Availity, and many associates have. Because everyone has unique career paths, we encourage associates to develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs). Having an IDP will guide you on your professional journey and help you achieve your career goals. Through Succeed, Availity’s learning platform, you can access the training you need to hone your skills or learn something new. Unfortunately, sometimes people decide to leave Availity. When this happens, we work as a team to maintain business continuity for our clients while we work to refill the role or absorb the responsibilities into other functions. While everyone feels the burden of a vacant position, associates, managers, and HR business partners should work together to develop a plan for the workload and any role adjustments. If this isn’t happening for you, please speak to your manager. It's great to hear your focus on keeping your skills current. We are too! That’s one of the reasons we invested in moving our data and technologies from on-prem to the Cloud. This move to the Cloud is important for our customers and gives our technology teams and developers access to the latest technologies and dev environments. If you’re not there yet, you will be soon! Again, we appreciate your feedback and are very happy you are part of our team.

Pros

Great people and the building is new.

Cons

Medical insurance is high deductible. Lots of office politics. Favoritism is rampant. Upper management is disconnected from the developers. Lots of big egos. New people are always being hired so the company isn’t so efficient. Some people get a chance to grow here, others obviously are left spinning their wheels. Probably why so many people leave.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Addressing issues head-on is the best way to bring about change, and we hope you are driving this kind of dialogue with your Manager as they are in the best position to help you with your career aspirations and work/life balance. If you and your manager need help brainstorming, please reach out to your HR/People Partners – career development is their passion. For example, we’re proud of how many great associates start in our call center and grow to ever greater roles in the company. Yes, we offer varying levels of high-deductible health plans with healthcare spending accounts with generous company contributions and Wellness reimbursements as part of our benefits package. This format allows you to pick a plan that best fits your needs while empowering everyone to make educated decisions in their care and in how they choose to spend their healthcare dollars. As for egos, we’re far too important to address that problem….Kidding! Please, we mean it when we say this is important to us – please reach out so we can understand and help you personally.

2nd year in a row that there have been layoffs. Last year was a week before Christmas. Again just prior to the holidays. Company is not meeting goals. We are thinking there will be more.

Like any midsized business, we work hard to address market trends and conditions, and be transparent in our approach to employee communications. Availity is a place to grow as an individual within the organization if you are entrepreneurial and curious, and we work hard to provide growth opportunities and development feedback. Thank you for your comments, if you have suggestions for ways to improve our employee communication, please reach out to us at AvailityHR@availity.com.
