Pros

So far, my experience with AvalonBay from beginning to present day has been nothing but positive. First, almost every person I meet here is warm, friendly, but most importantly, ethical. Everyone cared about my on-boarding experience, and my first impressions of AvalonBay as a new employee. Managers and co-workers went above and beyond to make me feel welcome throughout my first 93 days at the company. In addition, AvalonBay's dedication to their customers and employees is exactly what you would expect from a large company with the means. Not only are salaries fair as far as I can tell, but they treat their employees to birthday cakes, congratulatory meals, etc. which is a little gesture that goes a long way. They also do everything they can to make residents happy, which makes it easier and more pleasant for me to do my job. I could continue, but I think what I've already written sums it up. AvalonBay is an ethical and fair company, with great people who consistently look to improve and remain industry leaders. I'm proud to work for this company!

Cons

Lotus Notes and SalesForce, but they are aware and already working on their replacements.

Pros

Decent benefits, including 401k matching and housing discount for associates. Great coworkers and managers, and fantastic management practice. Everyone truly supports the core values of our company, and upper management does its best to treat it's employees well. There are structures in place to protect employees from retaliation and overall is an ethical company.

Cons

Benefits could be better, cannot afford to live in our communities even with a discount. This is primarily a sales/customer service job, which, while it pays the bills, is not mentally stimulating enough for me. Appears difficult to get out of entry-level positions.

Great employee events, benefits, o]ort unites to advance. etc.

Cons

Upper Management does not provide on site managers with proper tools to achieve high expetations.
