Pros
I have been with AvalonBay for 4 years and am very satisfied with my career and the opportunities for growth. This company is growing immensely everyday and filled with associates (on all levels) who are passionate about their jobs. I personally started off as an entry level leasing consultant and was promoted twice within 3 years to become a community manager. Interactions with my peers and senior level management have been stellar and full of support. If you're motivated and willing to put in your time, you will be rewarded and succeed with this company. I have been approached by multiple competitors and I can never think of a good enough reason to leave Avalon. It's the best of the best.
Cons
Not everyone is cut out for it! This industry requires flexibility, patience and hard work. It may take some time to get to a "comfortable" pay, but for the motivated individual it's worth the wait and the effort.
