Pros

Great on-the-job learning opportunity for new nurses. Opportunities to move on/up in other areas of healthcare but within the family of companies. If you're a hard worker and a nice person, you WILL be supported.

Cons

Skilled nursing is hard, that's true no matter what company you're working under and Avamere is no different. Sometimes it feels like you don't have enough help in order to complete your tasks. Very demanding job.

Flexible schedule: willing to work with school.

Cons

Terrible pay (fours years experience and only making a quarter more an hour than starting pay starting pay for someone with no experience. ) Terrible staff to resident ratios: 1 caregiver to 1 full assist people in a memory care unit. Nepotism Amount of staff does not increase when amount of residents or care increases because they do not have to follow the same state laws that skilled nursing and long term care has to follow.
