Pros

This use to be a fun, stressful at times, but fun, job. There use to be clothing items staff could order using "lark loot," games at staff meetings, end of the year holiday parties where we would get gifts. Now the head is too cheap to allow water coolers in the building.

Cons

Current management does not give you a proper support system to establish trust and guidance. Whenever you have a concern or complaint, it gets brushed off and ignored. Certain managers makes it seem like this wonderful place to move into when, in reality, neither residents or staff are happy with how issues are being handled. The facility is independent, assisted living and memory care. The residents they are bringing in have mental health issues, behavioral issues and are combative. [Mainly] higher up management does not care that staff are getting physically, mentally, and verbally abused, as long as they get their paycheck. Whole facility is understaffed and direct managers and executive director are threatening firing employees for medical issues out of their control, while working others to the point of illness. This is not exceptable, especially for a company that provides care for the elderly. On top of everything, owner of the company refuses to set up meeting to discuss raises. $14-$16 an hour is definitely not worth the amount of work and criticism staff receive.
