Pros

Helping people who can't take care of themself or rehabilitating the people that need a lil help to get back on their own

Cons

Understaffed, no communication, residents not being taken care of the way the should be, they don't fallow the way you were taught in the cna class they take short cuts cause being understaffed, employes having intercourse with other employes in empty rooms, staff is so rude not all but most of them, management does not listen to the employes about anything, most the staff wants to leave but don't cause then they don't know how the residents will be

Pros

Decent starting pay, paid time off, fair overtime/holiday pay.. Many individual staff are pleasant and caring people.

Cons

Even back on my very first day of orientation nursing was so understaffed we were at almost double the legal minimum ratio for CNAs. Most staff are burnt out and unfriendly. I had been hired as a not yet certified CNA and yet was not even properly oriented at all, more of a "you go do this and I'll do that" sort of thing within an hour of my first shift. Nursing staff are for the most part individually caring people but do not have time to provide even remotely adequate patient care to all patients. Residents are left on the toilet for a half an hour routinely because people will leave to go answer other call lights with the intent of coming right back, and no one else is available to help. Management has no clear idea of what they are doing and overtime is borderline forced consistently while staff is told "work smarter, not harder" to solve the understaffed problem. Staff is jumping ship left and right and has been consistently since I have worked there. Not a good place to work for a CNA who actually wants to do their job correctly. Bad medical benefits.
