Pros

nothing at all positive here

Cons

the sales side is actually very nice and professional however the education manager is terribly rude and abusive. It is impossible to be successful with such a divided sales and education team.

Pros

great discount at 75% off aveda knowledge my management worked as best they could to work with my schedule

Cons

no work / home balance no room too move or grow within company estee lauder has lost the culture of the brand, so a lot of the aspects of the company are lost. management hands are tied with hours and can only help you so much boring slow pace store no room to add hours then you are allocated for your position strict non-compete agreement, forbidding you from working in salons or other entities that perform or sell the same product type or service typical corp. company that does not care about their employees

Pros

A great brand with a proud tradition and very high customer engagement. Good compensation. Company is committed to diversity. The Blaine, MN campus has many amenities including a first-class cafeteria, an on-site daycare and many educational opportunities.

Cons

(1) Aveda is a brand of Estee Lauder. Originally Aveda had a high degree of autonomy but over time more and more functions have been centralized in the parent company. While it often makes sense to centralize, employees can get caught up in the process and/or the politics of it. (2) Aveda historically has been associated with salons, but the salon industry has been changing radically over the past 10-20 years, even before the pandemic hit. Aveda is in the process of adapting to the new environment, which will probably mean fewer jobs in the salon channel and more jobs in other channels. Change is inevitable, but potential employees should be aware of the state of the industry.
