Pros
At Avera, we don't just talk about our mission, but we live it daily. I've worked in other industries in my career - banking and manufacturing and also at other large healthcare systems in the Midwest - and Avera's culture is like no other. In fact, it's hard to describe to those who haven't directly experienced it. In my job, I interact with many leaders and employees on a regular basis and we have some of the best people in the Avera family. We are shepherding the legacy of the Benedictine and Presentation Sisters, women who built a foundation of care, faith, and service. The work we do is not ordinary. It is sacred. And I am humbled and honored to continue that mission, one day at a time.
Cons
Because the organization is so thoughtful and purposeful in its actions, with care and consideration to the result of those actions, it can sometimes seem that the speed of change is slow. However, I have seen this change with our new CEO and look forward to continued growth and advancement.
