      Generally a good place to work, but they are currently reorganizing.

      Pros

      Very flexible and understanding of personal emergencies. Above average benefits. When my positions was eliminated I was dealt with fairly and my severance was generous. Fellow employees are competent and good to work with.

      Cons

      They are reorganizing and generally contracting. IT staff is over-loaded and many people are working 60 hours / week for long periods. There is an increasing use of off-shore contractors.

      Pros

      Great peers, salary is competitive and it is a Global organization.

      Cons

      Such a complex organization with too many layers. Employees are not taken care of anymore.

      Pros

      Many talented and experienced personnel that one specially in fields of material science and chemistry could learn and grow. Avery has various training programs in Lean and Six Sigma that could help an individual in learning these basics.

      Cons

      Higher management is not always understanding and supportive of hard working employees. Like most corporate environments, there were many incidences that recognition was tied to how good an individual's relation is with higher management rather than their results and performance.
