Pros

- This is an environment where your personal development is being cared as much as that of the company's. If you're eager to learn and willing to contribute, you will most likely end up in the team you're most interested and comfortable in, and the move will happen very fast. - Working in a relatively small technology team from the beginning stage of web product building, you're exposed to various aspects and stages from product design, scrum management, backend and frontend all the way to build and deployment. There are definitely plenty of learning opportunities even outside of your normal job duty. - Each team is lead by an experienced team lead who understands the importance of both technology and management, which makes team work efficient and communication smooth. - Working smart is emphasized over working hard, so you're not encouraged to work long hours unless necessary, but yet able to complete all assignments. - The engineering team is like a family where everyone is very nice and eager to help. No one will hesitate to share their technical knowledge with you, all you have to do is ask. - You will be given the opportunity to openly speak your mind and make suggestions for improvements without having to worry about politics, and your suggestions will be considered and implemented if proven useful. - The company offers great benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, phone/online health advisory, legal advisory, 401k, accidents coverage, and even pet insurance. - The technology team is growing rapidly, which is always a good sign. - Unlimited coffee, drinks and snacks, which are engineer's best friends.

Cons

- The technology team is undergoing product rebuilding, where there are tons of tasks and things can get a bit intense. Some people see this as a negative, some see it as an opportunity to learn and contribute and prove personal worth. - The office has an open layout where people walking around and verbally discussing about work may be a bit distracting if you're a quiet-loving person. - There are no game room yet, so the most you can do for a break is to take a walk around the office.

Avetta's technology team is a mix of talent, intelligence, dedication and humble heroes. The company respects and appreciates your contribution to the team. Better said, you are amazing, you are transforming the organization every day, and your humility is something that we all can learn from. A wonderful part of our day? Walking through our technology team area...while we totally understand how the open layout can be distracting, your fans walk through, visit, and inquire with awe. Keep up the great work!

Pros

As a software engineer, I am offered the flexibility to grow and learn at my own pace, with the exception of mission critical projects/tasks. The department as a whole is very friendly and open to discussion, good or bad. That being said, while I am considered a "new" employee ( < 1 yr) I disagree with some of the previous reviews about this company and believe that it is on an upward trend, with plenty of good times ahead.

Cons

As far as the cons are concerned, I don't believe there is anything wrong from my point of view. A suggestion however would be that I have noticed times where I transitioned from a lot of work in a short amount of time to relatively less work the following day. While I do attribute that to the current long term project/goal, it would be nice to have more consistent work loads. Again, I am not considering this to be an issue but I believe it is something that could be improved upon moving forward.

An integral part of Avetta is our technology team. To read that your opinion is that the organization is on an upward trend is one of the most important reviews on this site. You and your members are an instrumental part of our future. You and your team members are shaping how our customers will interact with our product. You and your team members will create something that all of your co-workers will support, sell, and evolve for many years to come. Take advantage of those less frenetic days; the ones where you are not saturated with tasks. Perhaps your genius comes from those quieter times. :) Truthfully, Avetta's continued growth will keep you even busier. Thank you for your candid advice. We agree that you need room to make decisions, to make mistakes and to learn each step of the way. For all that you do, thank you.
