Pros

...if snacks are the only positive thing your employees have to say about you...

Cons

Rapid turnover of management means that your efforts go unnoticed. There is big talk about promotions and career paths, but in reality there is no such thing. Work here if you wish to collect unemployment in the future.

Thank you for your review; we’re glad to hear our employees enjoy our snack selection! But we also know it takes more than snacks to build a great company. The growth at PICS over the past 24 months has been unprecedented. Like other expanding companies, PICS experienced some growing pains. As for the recent changes and additions to the executive management team, the goal was and is to create world-class leadership for the next phase in the company’s journey. It’s not an easy process, but we’re pleased to report it’s working! However, we know that leadership can only drive results with great talent executing its strategy. As such, we’re investing heavily in professional development and mobility programs to create an environment in which our employees grow and thrive. While we are still in the early days, the initial indicators are quite positive. We wish you the very best in all your future endeavors.

* I often felt like I was working back in 1990: Very disorganized, outdated processes and even questionable business practices along with ineffective setup and use of their systems---this creates enormous, tedious and frustrating workload via manual processes. * The culture is by far the worst I have ever witnessed or experienced where the lack of consideration for others is so great it was downright disturbing---such as, one of the other office workers experienced a significant death in the family and she was extended zero empathy and instead given 1 day to travel all the way across the country and back for a funeral (even though she had the pto earned to take more time). It was a disgusting lack of kindness and not the kind of treatment of others for which I wish to be associated. The girl returned to work on a Monday barely holding it together and still management gave zero rats for her situation. * Punitive and Negative Work Culture/Environment - Textbook Toxic: I witnessed workers being picked apart for making errors while at the same time receiving little to zero support or training to improve. The negativity was so great it was openly hostile at times. This company is a traditional, authoritative, non-collaborative culture where employees are not empowered, but expected to toe the line, managed by people who should not be working with others, let alone manage people. Communication from even VP's was demeaning, belittling or non-existent. *Total lack of boundaries for work/life balance: If you feel the need to take a lunch break --and trust me you will if only to escape the negative and toxic environment or cry in your car for a few minutes each day. But forget that, because breaks of any kind for any reason are frowned upon. Be prepared to work 50-60 hours a week. Be prepared to have last minute meetings put to your calendar at odd and unexpected times without notice, such as early mornings at 8:30 am or be called into other impromptu meetings at 4pm spanning over 2 hours into the evening past 6:30 pm. There is often no boundaries or consideration of your life outside of work. Requests for earned PTO are withheld from staff because even earned time off is considered a "reward". So if you do decide to work here--do so without expecting any time off for any reason.

We would like to take this opportunity to address a couple of your statements to ensure full transparency and hopefully, provide you with some context and clarity. Regarding bereavement leave, the company offers 2 days of paid leave and as much additional leave as needed, whether paid through the use of PTO, or unpaid through the use of a personal leave of absence. We always extend our sympathy and condolences in the event of death in an employee’s family or friend circle, and we accommodate their needs. As a global company, we often see employees travel across the world to be with their families during that difficult time, and we have supported them each and every time. PTO requests are approved and encouraged to give employees the opportunity to take time away to unplug and recharge. Based on your role and department, there are certain times of the year where management might ask you to adjust the dates to meet business needs. The same goes for lunch breaks. Every employee is encouraged to take a lunch break each day. Many employees choose to work through lunch or eat lunch at their desks, which is certainly at their and their manager’s discretion. We take pride in offering our employees the autonomy and flexibility to set their own pace so they can do their best work and feel comfortable at work. We do not espouse the practice of working 50-60 hour weeks. As a company that uses a hybrid work model, we only see employees 3 times per week in the office. The rest of time they work from home, which encourages a more flexible work schedule. Employees work with their manager to determine their schedule. Again, we are very sorry that your time at Avetta was dissatisfying. We certainly want to ensure that all employees are happy at work, and that we provide a work environment that helps everyone thrive.
