Pros

Laid back mentality (although if you're ambitious as I am, that's a debatable plus), a lot of freedom, flexible working hours

Cons

Upper management has no vision concerning IT in a modern enterprise, which is detrimental to talent inside the company. Existing IT departments are outdated bureaucratic dinosaurs. No real career opportunities, very unprofessional atmosphere, no actual company culture, double standards, enormous amount of negativity among workers, salary & (non existent) package way below average.

Pros

Benefits: retirement, insurance, looks great on a cv, good learning curve, good people in most cases, a decent company if you have the "right" job.

Cons

Inconsistent hours, you could work 4 hours or 20 hours straight. No overtime just straight pay. Your pay is under rate. You work most of the holidays. Never know your schedule. Unless you are salary you aren't treated with the same respect. Management needs to be trained, a lot of unprofessionalism. Rough environment to work in.

Has good benefits, basically that's about it.

Cons

Pretty much work all holidays, you don't get paid for overtime, its just straight time. Management is not what it should be at all.
