Outstanding product, still best in its class. Nice salary, and outstanding benefits. Upper-management was very smart, even if not always technically aware of what the editing products were being used for, they were smart enough to listen to those who did.

Cons

As Apple decided to declare war on Avid, and belts had to be tightened, management made increasingly poor decisions. Emulating other editing solutions for one, then letting go of the most industry-experienced staff.

Pros

Fantastic colleagues, great industry, great customers. Salary and Benefits are good.

Cons

Arrogant management.... "Do as I say" mentality, even if they are wrong (and so often have been... just follow Avid over the past 5 years). When their poor decisions result in not making the number, they lay off year after year after year. They finally laid off some of the executives, but the executive house needs to be emptied and hosed out. Sadly, so many good and talented people have been either laid off or have left. Many of us are out looking.
