Pros

Avispa is a wonderful contracting agency! Most temp agencies tend to not care about their employee’s and just want to find you any job quickly, that is not the case with Avispa! They truly got to know me as a person and presented me with assignments that they believed I would succeed it. They do not want you to fail and encourage all opportunities. I actually ended up not loving my first assignment and after the three months were up and it ended, they asked me what things I liked, and what things that I disliked about it. They easily could’ve just found me any next available position, but they took the time to talk to me and find me a position that they believed I would enjoy and do well in. Not only were they amazing during the onboarding process, they also called to check in with me throughout the assignments. They are great at communicating with you so you are never in the dark. Be transparent with what you want, and they will help lead you to opportunities that will take you there. Take advantage of the fact that they are only of the smaller agencies around the Bay Area, because that means they care a lot more about their employees than most agencies.

Cons

It is a great place to go to in order to get your foot in the door. I recommend it to any recent graduates trying to get started. It is not going to pay a super high wage, but if you play your cards right, it will be worth it in the long run. At first, I was a little concerned with the hourly wage that I was offered, but I took a chance since they were able to get me into a hospital that is recognized as one of the nation’s best! I mainly accepted the offer for the title on my resume, to gain experience, and also to learn as much as possible from some of the top healthcare providers in America. Since I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, I decided that this would be a great place to learn the basics and take that knowledge with me wherever I go later on in life. After only two assignments (6 months), I was hired permanently by the hospital. This meant that I was no longer a temp and I would get a much higher wage offer from the hospital. I am grateful for Avispa and I would not be able to have my new position without them.

Pros

Generally, a good place to find employment as an expatriate in Chile.

Cons

Not an ideal schedule as workers must adapt to the Pacific time zone and must work until very late. Workers expected to prioritize company over personal life and safety. Employment only possible since the company pays a Chilean salary, not Californian.

Pros

Gets you a job and pay is whatever

Cons

-Worst temp agency -Doesn't call you back to check-in on how you're doing -Doesn't care about the feedback you receive -Only wants to make money from you and they show it -Hardly any interpersonal communication and look at you as a product instead of a human being -I just realized this is a family owned business. One of the worst kind.
