Here's how it started: the best company I ever worked for. Fun, supportive, fulfilling, and helped me grow in my career. Here's how it ended: the most toxic environment I've ever been a part of. I'm speaking specifically of the corporate side of the house, so I can't say anything about the pharmacy environment. And while I'm sure your experience would vary depending on your direct supervisor, here are a few things I can say are objectively and universally true about Avita: 1. The company culture they tout is all for show. Compassion is not a tenant when it comes to how they treat team members. 2. HR is there to protect the company and the leaders they've insulated. (The ones guilty of sexual harassment and wrongful terminations.) 3. Team members are viewed as means to an end and that's it. It used to be that Avita truly valued their team members, but after some recent changes, it's all about the bottom line and their eventual aim to sell the company. You are 100% replaceable if you are not helping take them toward that end. It really is a shame. A new executive leader came in and dismantled the department I was part of. We had an incredible, powerhouse of a team. From what I hear now, morale is so low it's under the floor at this point. To be clear, I am not a disgruntled former employee. I am SO much happier and in a healthier place now that I am no longer with Avita. Bottom line: "Compassion, collaboration, and resourcefulness" is a sham and there is zero transparency or integrity within the Executive Leadership Team. And to the sweet, well-meaning HR intern who is tasked with responding to these reviews--yes, I was completely aware of the feedback channels available to me. The "your voice matters" inbox and anonymous feedback forms. I used them. I know others who used them. Avita does not want honest feedback, and, in fact, honest feedback tends to be penalized in the long term. I expressed concerns via feedback forms, directly to my manager, and even directly to the ELT. What happened? On more than one occasion I was told to "keep my head down" and "don't make waves or you might not like what happens." I guess they were right because the ones who kept their heads down are still there and the ones who didn't...aren't. So, save yourself from an incredibly toxic environment and poor leadership. There are better opportunities out there. Trust me.
