Pros
Working at Avita is more than just a "job" to me-I am vested in its mission of helping secure inclusive, quality healthcare for underserved communities. I'm also really proud to work with some of the most compassionate, can-do people in the healthcare industry.
There has been a lot of growth at Avita in the past three years. With growth comes change, and often growing pains. Not everyone deals with change the same way.
I can only speak for myself and say that in my role, I have always felt respected, both for the skillset I bring to the table and as a human being. I work hard, but am offered ample work-life balance. And I have been given the opportunity to grow in my career with guidance but without micromanagement. In my experience, all those things are rare in the job marketplace.
Avita is not perfect, but I truly believe that leadership wants what is best for the company, and they know this means doing what is best for team members. I also think they're getting much better at communicating changes, explaining the why behind them, and offering folks an opportunity to give honest feedback.
Cons
Avita has some work to do on the cost of its healthcare benefits, which continue to rise. This is a national trend and an issue they have taken ownership of, but the cost still stings. That being said, I do think the HR and Benefits team is one of the best I've ever worked with.
