Terrible Management

Pros

Nice pay. That’s it honestly

Cons

Horrible management , built on friendship and rubbing shoulders. Grey area in management for firing hard workers that all happen to be minority races. Will fail you on a wip-check with no evidence or documentation. Will put you on probation if you complain to HR. Will give you systemically damaged jobs for the day then blame you for not registering samples that are systemically broken. Will place you in a room and yell/ cause you of being a bad employee until you leave. Limited growth opportunities. Lack of diversity in management. MANY WORK RELATIONSHIPS IN MANAGEMENT

Pros

This is a good company if you have literally zero experience. You don’t need any scientific background or knowledge to work here.

Cons

This is the type of place that will change your departments upper management structure completely in secret. The upper managers (lab managers) are pretty useless at the job and they lead their lab with all the charisma of a wet cardboard box. This company aims to keep its retention rate low.

Pros

Growing company, pays slightly better than most places. Decent benefits.

Cons

Office politics and popularity determine who gets promoted. You can work as a dedicated employee for years and your contributions and skills can be a boon to your team and company. However if you’re not chummy with the right people or a more introverted person, you're not getting that promotion you deserve. Unless you’re a straight white man. Bias against sex and race play a role too. If you’re an extroverted guy, you’ll likely love it here. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and keep searching elsewhere.
