Pros

Good pay and benefits. Overall, there are some great, talented people. They have a lot of resources and offerings. There's opportunity for internal growth, travel, or transfer.

Cons

Overly bureaucratic to the point of slowing progress to a tedious crawl. They treat people like things. So big, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle and accidentally laid off. Internal organization does not facilitate teamwork or cooperation. There's a lot of "that's not my job." No one is willing to assume risk for anything, so it means you hear "no" more frequently than "some risk, but let's figure this out."

Pros

Easy position to attain if you have a clearance. Great temporary position when you are still looking for other positions in the IC. Exposure and networking to other companies that will appreciate you.

Cons

Benefits being cut. PTO being lowered. 3 years to be vested in their retirement plans.Working with folks who have no prior experience before working there. Clear favoritism when it comes to certain teams and program managers. Persuaded gov't customer to discontinue polygraph vetting to prevent employees from progressing in their IC careers. Will only permit a raise in salary once you state your intent to depart the company. They are losing contracts at an alarming rate and other current employees anticipate pay cuts when BAE underbids contracts they are re-competing for. Unprofessional relationships deteriorating mission cohesion at the customer sites.

Good benefits, advancement opportunities or lateral conversion to other sectors within the company.

Cons

Working on salary, long hours and weekends are required to meet estimate completion dates. No compensation for this extra work despite the expectation from management that we submit our estimates on time.
