      A good place to work at overall but needs some tweaks

      Pros

      BAE did a good job at welcoming me. I was kept well informed at the on-boarding stage and the two day induction was well thought out and I had some good discussions and made acquaintances at the 2nd night induction dinner. I didn’t immediately have a career manager but ended up with one who put themselves forward realising I did not have one. I then ended up with a second for a few days instigated by the team who should have sorted it out in the first place! I kept the first one and they have been brilliant at supporting me and advising me. I have wanted to change roles and the career manager has put me in touch with several other people I could inevitably work with. The flexible working is really good as well. This is a real bonus for anyone who has kids, elderly parents or just likes the solitude of working on their own. It also has a good pension and a variety of benefits which are very attractive.

      Cons

      Once I was "dropped" off at my office after the third morning at BAE, the local manager had little or no interest primarily because he was manically busy and a bit annoyed that he had been tasked with looking after me and a few other starters. I had to really push hard to get myself sorted out. I had tried to make notes about all the things I needed to do at the induction but it is easy to get confused or just forget what is needed. My local manager was very little help and I found most help with other members of staff. The on-boarding staff were extremely helpful too. Once in situ it then seemed that I had to push for a project. My overall manager in all fairness gave me something very interesting to do but I found the system inadequate and that there was little help to begin with. Once I had got used to the people, the system and who I needed to go to get help from things were much better.

      Great salary but poor management

      Pros

      Nice compound. Free private healthcare. Shuttle buses to malls. Salary increase to retain Bachelors. Increased flight allowances just introduced

      Cons

      Poor working environment. Unfriendly, unsupportive management. Difficult, potentially hostile students.
