      As United Defense It was a great place to work

      Pros

      Pay is good, benifits are good. There have been many good people

      Cons

      Due to a blind effort to have a facility in Michigan at any cost they are laying off many of the experienced people that made the company (as United Defense) great. There was an extreamly loyal workforce there but that is all lost. You can't find anyone who is happy to work there.

      Pros

      Good pay and benefits for the area. Protecting those who protect us is a noble job. A few great managers help dealing with the difficult a little bit easier. Real concern from Management on Ethics and Safety.

      Cons

      Reorganizations have not been well executed and many feel they have been lost in the shuffle. Lack of functional area support from the top down in Engineering. No clear strategy and direction for the future. Organizational processes are in disarray and a constant source of frustration for multiple levels.

      Pros

      BAE is an excellent company and is a leader in the industry. When new contracts are coming in and exsisting ones are on track then they take great care of all of their employees.

      Cons

      The hardest part is not knowing one week to the next if you're going to have a job. They rely so heavily on military contracts ( I estimate that it makes up at least 80% of their sales) that management prays on a daily basis for something good to come their way. When business is good they are your best friend but when things are tough they have no problem showing you the door.
