Pros

Great benefits, flexible work/life balance, lots of opportunities to grow if you work with the right people. 100% tuition reimbursement, and development is encouraged by most managers.

Cons

Employees needed more empowerment through complex processes so the work could get done. Backlog of work was mostly due to poor response through the complex processes. Business units operated to their own set of standards, not adhering to corporate policies.

Pros

Got to talk to a lot of other engineering interns. Chemical engineering is really the center of what they do at the headquarters, Ludwigshafen. Got to visit various labs and production facilities. Good guidance from my research advisors.

Cons

Big company but otherwise no other cons.

Pros

Great benefits and 401(k). Great vacation allotment.

Cons

Advancement not likely, particularly for non-exempt employees. Advancement typically achieved by applying for another job instead of receiving actual promotions, however non-exempt employees applying for exempt roles will probably not be successful in obtaining the job.
