Pros
Loads of paid time off, including sick time. Plus great Christmas gifts and other performance-based incentives. Yet, these aren't really "Pros:" please see below.
Cons
There's no ability to use your paid time off because no one will leave you alone if you're out of the office. I had to go on vacation to a place without cell service to avoid getting calls. (That is not an exaggeration.) Better yet, when you get back, you have hundreds of emails to answer and problems to fix that were caused by negligent, disgruntled coworkers. I literally still have nightmares about the awful work environment that BAYADA promoted. Instead of listing the myriad situations that were unprofessional, damaging, and completely inappropriate, I'll just refer you to "Workplace bullying and its relation with work characteristics, personality, and post-traumatic stress symptoms: an integrated model," by Cristian Balduccia, Franco Fraccaroli, and Wilmar B. Schaufeli. It's worth the $25 or so you'll have to pay to get a copy of their research. I'd write this in the Advice to Management section, but they'd probably take me up on it and figure out a way to charge an additional 6% of that cost to every service office while also making them read it. Thankfully, I had such an awful experience at BAYADA Home Health Care that I know how good work can be. I know that no matter how bad it gets elsewhere, it will NEVER be as bad as it was. By the way, current employees: health insurance doesn't actually have to cost you $36 a week for single coverage. It exists out there for far less, with better coverage. Also, two meetings a week is not normal. You probably already noticed that it is at worst simply an opportunity for public humiliation, and at best more of a hindrance than helpful. Fear-based management is not real management. Last, you have every right to leave work at work. "All Hands on Deck" is a deceitful way to get you to work overtime without having to pay you for it. The real BAYADA Way is to get you and your staff to work as hard as possible for the least amount of money. Don't think for one second BAYADA Home Health Care can't afford to give you a raise or decrease their margins even just a few points. If Mark Baiada urges you to "talk to your local representatives" about getting higher reimbursement rates from the state to be able to give you a raise, ask him to talk to the local NLRB. Or just quit hiring every Thomas, Richard, and Harry Baiada. Don't let BAYADA hold you hostage because they give you Maui Jim sunglasses for Christmas. You may not get three weeks' vacation or two weeks' sick time, but you will get a safe, healthy, caring work environment with mid-level- and upper-management who are emotionally intelligent and professional.
