Pros

The office internet plays hide and seek more often than a toddler with a sweet tooth. With their daily 'Internet Roulette,' you'll be on the edge of your seat, wondering if you'll get to check your email or have a staring contest with the spinning loading icon. You'll have so many breaks, you'll forget what you were supposed to be working on in the first place!

Cons

It's clear that the upper echelons of this company were chosen based on their ability to make the worst decisions possible. It's as if they hold regular meetings to brainstorm ways to baffle employees with their sheer lack of direction. Rumor has it leadership is planning to introduce "Cluelessness" as a core Tigger value. If I had a penny for every time I received an announcement that left me questioning the fabric of reality, I'd be a millionaire. It's like they've created a secret language where "yes" means "maybe," "maybe" means "no," and "no" means you should probably start updating your resume. They'll pay you just enough to keep you from turning to a life of crime, but not enough to keep you from considering coupon-clipping as a viable career option. Let's not forget the office environment, a true masterpiece of discomfort. From the moment you step in, it's as if you've been transported to a parallel dimension where style went extinct and fluorescent lighting decided to wage war on your retinas. The desks – oh, the desks – they've clearly been salvaged from a graveyard of office equipment, each with its own unique battle scars. Imagine working inside a filing cabinet, where each conversation echoes like a symphony of missed opportunities. If you're in search of a company where the conference room doubles as a bar, and company meetings sound like karaoke night at the local pub, BDA is the answer to all your prayers. Everyday is like stepping into a perpetual "Thirsty Thursday" with a side of office politics.

Pros

Helpful co-workers, free parking, good location if you live in the area. 4:00 on Fridays, you can engage in cheap wine or beer with a few other co-workers. Occasional work from home days. My immediate manager was pleasant and helpful, but upper management was a joke.

Cons

Let's start with the owners/founders. They were teenagers when they launched this company 30+ years ago and still act like it. Much like fraternity boys, but they never went to college and it shows. They get up in front of the company, drinking and swearing, make racial slurs, bash their heritage and expect everyone to think they are funny. There were even stories of sexual harassment floating around the buildings. Systems are old and archaic, and they do not work with each other, so complete a process takes several steps and several people. You are always waiting on someone...the buyer, analyst, tech, email marketing, etc... Pay is terrible. They outright lie to clients, over promise the impossible and expect you to back them up. They call it "smoke and mirrors", but it's just plain dishonesty. If you travel for the company, you have to pay for everything up front, on your own credit or debit card and they will reimburse you the next month. This is terrible if you are on a budget and watching finances. Some expenses for a multi-day trip can cost a couple thousand with hotel, meals and transportation. They will not issue you a corporate card unless you travel excessively. Minimal options for lunch onsite unless you want to eat from pre-made foods or snack foods.

Pros

The people on the front lines with me were great. Very talented, smart and great work ethics. Everyone there is miserable - they're overworked and under a ton pressure, which in a weird way got us to bond. Although I hope and wish BDA goes under, the truth is it's a successful company.

Cons

This company is terrible, and it all starts at the top. The Executive team is incredibly erratic and unpredictable: they are too often involved in front line work, when they should be overlooking the departments and figuring out how they can improve the workflow. The body language around the office is everyone looks defeated. No one celebrates their accomplishments, just what's next that needs to be done and how many man hours it will take. Some middle-management are good at what they do, but the majority of what I saw was them sucking up to the client, saying yes to anything the client wants and taking it out on the team members if anything goes wrong. What they don't realize is when they do that, it creates a dis-coordinated front that shows the client uneasiness throughout the process. I should've left months ago.
