Pros

Entrepreneurial spirit. Depending on your team, you can take ownership of your projects and they are open to new ideas. You learn a lot quickly regarding relationship-building with clients and vendors, sourcing product, sales pitches/tactics, project management and escalating client issues.

Cons

The workload is tremendous and projects move quickly. You sink or swim here.

Do not work here!

Pros

Parties and some of the people. If you're lucky enough to have a good boss, working here is tolerable.

Cons

Upper management could care less about their employees. They talk a lot but there's low (minimal) results. They don't know how to create anything besides putting a logo on a t-shirt. Even when they do hire people who are in the know on how they're not listened to or implemented. The shotgun method of creating products does not work and has shown as business has declined. They believe in the quick-rich method of business and it's not working. They have little patients in seeing a product become successful. If you work here, do not think your position is safe, I have never seen so many people get "let go" or "laid off" in such a short amount of time. Work here if you would like temporary employment and a good time but find a different company for long term career fulfillment, better benefits and better company security.

great learning environment, with a steep price

Pros

Having worked at BDA in my 20's, it was a great place to learn. The company readily hands out responsibilities and challenges to virtually anyone who wants it - so you have the ability to get exposure to all faucets of the business. Due to the high-stress nature you tend to make very strong bonds with co-workers (I still have many friendships from my time there that I maintain today)

Cons

There is no such thing as a work/life balance. Hours are terrible. Deadlines are stressful. Management acts as if the company is a perpetual fraternity house during finals week where 70 hour work weeks are common and every party or event is soaked in alcohol, profanity and inappropriate sexual advances. Management also treats employees as if they are disposable. They frequently do not follow-through with their commitments and manipulate people into doing things that are not enjoyable, and often not ethical.
