Pros

Great place to get experience for a bigger company.

Cons

First off, I saw the bad reviews on here prior to taking this job, and now I wish I would have given them more thought to leaving my previous employer. If you like to work 8-8 or longer this is the job for you. If you like being publicly shamed by leadership for making an error a couple weeks into the job, this is your role. The long hours wouldn’t be so bad if senior leadership appreciated the work you put in, but that isn’t the case. You’ll work your butt off, and once you’re done it’s on to the next project. No thank you, no great job, just on to the next thing. It’s really a shame for the people who have been at the company for 5+ years, but the CFO believes that everyone is replaceable. Now my experience may differ from other locations, but I would definitely avoid working for Finance at this company. In short: - Long hours - No appreciation for work - Absolutely no work/life balance - Benefits are bare minimum (16 vacation days, 3% match after 2 years, and high deductible health insurance)

We appreciate your feedback. Our normal hours are 8:30-5. As an hourly employee, all additional hours worked must be discussed with and approved by management. Additionally, our hourly employees are compensated accordingly for any additional or overtime hours worked. We absolutely encourage a work/life balance for all of our employees and want our employees to talk to HR should they have concerns about this. We have a variety of benefits offered, including several health care insurance options. Our vacation and 401k match are, in fact, more than what you have listed.

Pros

Learning opportunity before moving on to something else. Hour breaks . Off on weekends . PTO

Cons

"Upper" Management is terrible. There should be an onsite HR rep, to many things get swept under the rug. No growth for people that work hard.

Thank you for your feedback. With 145 offices, it is not possible to have an HR rep in each location (especially without a location listed in this review). That being said, we have an extremely qualified and hard working HR team spread throughout the globe that are able to assist with any concerns from our employees. BDP offers employees various opportunities for growth, including an Internal Mobility program and Leadership Development Program.

Pros

Downtown Philly office was nice.

Cons

Where to start... First you get a 1 week of training before they flood your gates with crunching away at your computer, processing whatever team you are put on. Its none stop 9-5, processing new request after request, while you are paid in pennies. Hell a promotion is basically a slice of white bread. Oh we "give over time" that means they ask others to help you so you don't get over time. Once you pass "logistics coordinator" good luck thinking you will get promoted. The time I left there were individuals still in their same role for 4+ years making that awful pay. They wont promote from inside either, so just leave. My favorite line was "we don't understand why there is so much turn over..." Maybe pay your bottom feeder workers more then a cabbage farmer and they might stay longer then a month...

Thank you for your feedback. Our training plans and times differ by team, but the end goal is always the same: to make sure the new employee has all of the resources they need to be successful in their position. Like most businesses in the world, ours is non-stop. If it weren't for our dedicated, rockstar employees working diligently throughout the day, then the goods and products we move for our customers around the world would not get to where they need to go. BDP does provide overtime pay when necessary; but often, we are happy to see team members help each other out to get the job done. As for promotions, we have a robust internal mobility program, in which promotions are given to employees who apply and who have proven they are hard workers. We also have a Leadership Development program, where employees can develop leadership skills, work with executive mentors and network with executives and colleagues across other departments, opening up even more opportunities for growth. Finally, we would never call any employees at BDP bottom feeders and we ask that you do not either. Our employees know that whenever they have concerns, they are encouraged to reach out to their local HR representative.
