Pros

Benefits: Pension and generous PTO

Cons

CEO: came from bank and has changed the culture from member driven to profit driven. Hired most of exec team from outside of state and are flown in on members dime constantly. They have no tie to local community where the majority of members are located. Culture is toxic: employees aren’t listened to and penalized for speaking up, very bureaucratic, countless projects started and never finished with many spanding over multiple years (again wasting members money)

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear that the benefits, such as the pension plan and generous PTO, have been positive aspects of your experience. These are important elements in supporting employees and creating a balanced work environment. However, we also hear your concerns about the cultural and leadership changes you’ve observed, and we take them seriously. The shift from a member-driven focus to what feels like a profit-driven approach, along with the disconnect between leadership and the local community, are deeply concerning. A strong connection to the community is a cornerstone of our mission, and it’s critical to ensure that leadership decisions align with those values. Your comments about the workplace culture and employee experience are equally important. Employees should feel heard, respected, and supported, and it’s troubling to hear that this hasn’t been your experience. Unfinished projects and bureaucracy not only hinder progress but also risk wasting valuable resources. Thank you for your feedback—it’s a reminder of the importance of staying true to our core values and ensuring that every team member feels valued and empowered. We are committed to reflecting on these concerns and continuing to drive the organization in a positive direction for members and employees.

Pros

Great perks such as medical, 501k, pension, and quarterly bonus

Cons

If you are not part of the BIPOC community and especially if you are white, you will not be advanced in the company. Due to the new CEOs consistent messages of white privilege, you will be treated horrifically by BIPOC coworkers who will make racist remarks including insults about your culture. It's best to just move on and get a job that is focused on equity for all

Pros

Benefits, diversity, and a brand people really support.

Cons

Last layoff was in 2004 and now another round. Lots of great people but not surprised by staff cuts… see how much management will be held accountable too.
