      Pros

      Company is taking on major transformation projects which is great and much needed.

      Cons

      This should theoretically be an amazing time to be working here. But if you have worked hard, develop yourself and your skills in other organizations and joined because of the organization purpose, you’ll be disappointed to see your job outsourced to external consultants who do everything for you while leadership keeps you in their back pocket instead of actually managing their teams to deliver. We have consistently squandered our members’ money on consultants while we HAVE ALL THE SKILLS AND TALENT in house, already on payroll. If you want to further your skills development and career by working hard and learning new stuff, stay away. You are just a number to justify leadership’s senior titles, while other people do all the work.

      Incompetent managers and international outsourcing

      Decent benefits and great colleagues.

      Cons

      The majority of the quality engineer managers are incompetent. My manager does not know what is going on with the team and does not bring any value, a useless layer that the company is wasting money. IT is also outsourcing a good amount of work to out of state and international employees. This place not longer feels like the local credit union - I am sure a lot of the core members of BECU would not be pleased that we are not keeping the jobs locally.

      If you have prior banking experience this is a step down

      Good company, good benefits, good people

      Cons

      This position is extremely micromanaged, little autonomy, the training is very group structured and intended for those without a solid banking background. If you have a background in banking it won’t challenge you except for having to constantly answer the phone. Very little in the way of development of other skills if you already possess them.
