Thank you for leaving this review! We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed the flexibility to take work with you while you travel. Every month, our team evaluates market trends, and our pay is highly competitive in the market that we are in. We are proud of our service in finding contractors the best clients to work with.

Great Company, But....

Pros

This company has a great atmosphere of positivity. Everyone I have encountered has been genuinely kind and helpful. Of course the flexibility of not having to get up and rush out the door to work everyday has been life changing!

Cons

If money is no object to you, Belay is one of the best places to work. However, if you are a single mom with bills to pay, it can be rough. Belay charges the client more than double what you as the VA will take home. You get paid for the amount of hours you work up to 175 hours a month. At 175 hours I made just enough to slide by every month, but I was so burnt out I couldn’t even enjoy my time. (Note: there is no PTO/Sick leave with Belay) So I dropped down to 150 hours and I am no longer burnt out, but now I can barely afford to make ends meet. Also, you are getting paid as a 1099, which means zero benefits. Essentially this is the perfect job for those who have spouses with high paying jobs and great family insurance.

Thank you so much for your feedback and review. We appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns as we welcome opportunities to grow and improve. Our website states that we offer contracted positions and this is reiterated throughout our application, interview process, and onboarding process. 1099 Contracts are a great way to work from home and provide the flexibility that so many of us are looking for in our daily lives. But like any 1099 Contract, we are very upfront that there are no health benefits, PTO, or paid leave. But, we greatly value work-life balance and encourage contractors to communicate with their clients in advance on how to take time off. With that said, we are aware that a 1099 contract is not always the best fit for everyone, and that is why we are very transparent throughout each step of our process. Additionally, our rates are representative of industry and market standards/averages for a staffing model like ours. Without that context, we understand how that would prove frustrating. We wish you all the best and are here should you ever have further questions or concerns!
