Pros

Since COVID 19, BISSELL has doubled in size and has outgrown their headquarters so now most corporate employees are hybrid. Half the time at home, half the time in the office. More or less, based on the needs of the position, etc. They also have 8.75 hour work days Monday through Thursday and 5 hour work days on Friday, year round for corporate employees.

Cons

Usually they have bonuses but things have slowed down a bit so there haven’t been any bonuses this calendar year.

Pros

- Awesome people! I really love my team. - Compensation is decent for West Michigan. Benefits are great - high deductible health plan but basically NO premiums! Good 401K matching, etc. - Balance of promoting from within and bringing in new talent/capabilities. - Strong track record of developing marketers. Several leaders ABM - VP came up through the ranks at BISSELL. There are amazing growth opportunities and a better commitment to individual development than what I have seen at any other company I have worked for. - I really enjoy the hybrid work plan most of us in Marketing follow - 1/2 the time remote, 1/2 the time in the office. I find I am most effective with a balance of both. - Some reviews I've read mention all male leadership teams. That simply is not true. We have 4 business units. Two of the business units are led by women. It is true that the top executives are primarily male and we need to improve that as well as continue to drive overall diversity. - The BISSELL Pet Foundation does amazing work and provides a deeper "why" and purpose that resonates with our pet loving teams. Oh, and you can bring your dog to work.

Cons

- BISSELL doubled in size in two years. As you might imagine, a lot of processes and ways of working simply need to change/be updated when you grow that fast. It's painful. BISSELL is working through pretty big growing pains. The company has been around for 146 years so this is just another bump in the road. - Not all functions are closely aligned to supporting the business priorities and are focused on functional priorities. We really need all functions to work together for a common goal. - Marketing needs more marketing support roles. People are stretched too thin. I have confidence that this will be addressed quickly. - The floorcare industry, like many others is having a tougher year, post-covid. We are settling into more sustainable run rates and growth. 2022 is just tough.
