Pros

Prestigous company as far as one of the top hospitals around, decent health benefits, tuition reimbursement ($4,500 if full time and half of that if part time), earned time off with the option of selling ETO once a year, pension plan & 401k.

Cons

Where do I begin...unless you are a nurse or hold some type of clinical position, BJH treats you as if you're a piece of crap AND doesn't pay administrative positions crap!! BJH does not try to fill posi- tions from within first--they could care less, and if you do transfer to a higher pay grade, they will start you off at the very beginning of the pay level despite your experience--despicable. They will hire someone from the outside and pay them more than you because you are transferring from within.

Pros

- able to perform and learn advance techniques in one department - provide good health insurance, dental, and vision - a lot of projects to volunteer for - parking can be free depending on the shift you work, 30% food discount - there are some attempts for employee appreciation - lab week, christmas gifts

Cons

- St. Louis MTs are paid 2% under the national average - Some people have worked here so long that they no longer like their job and can be difficult to work with - Management can be unresponsive - no room to move up, you either work the bench or you supervise - you only work in one department, so its hard to get other experiences unless you quit and apply to another department. - Every shift has it own rules regarding dress code, breaks, and weekend work.
